Petosan Privacy Policy

Account and Data Deletion

You can delete your Petosan account and associated cloud data directly in the app:

1. Open the Petosan app.
2. Sign in to the account you want to delete.
3. Go to Settings.
4. Select Delete account.
5. Confirm the deletion request.
6. If required, re-authenticate with Apple or Google to complete deletion.

When you delete your account, Petosan deletes your Firebase Authentication account and data stored under your user ID in Petosan’s Firebase project, including dog profiles, brushing history, training progress, dental progress photos, agreement records, and synced account summaries.

Some local-only data may remain on your device until you uninstall the app, clear app data, or remove it manually. Some diagnostic and analytics data may be retained by Firebase according to Google’s default retention practices and may not be directly linked to your account.

2. Information We Collect

Account and sign-in information:
- Firebase user ID (UID)
- Email address, if provided by Apple or Google sign-in
- Sign-in provider, such as Apple or Google

Dog profile and routine information:
- Dog profile details you enter, such as name, breed, weight, birthday, and notes
- Brushing history, including daily counts, durations, and session timestamps
- Training course progress, including course step, completion, points, and last activity
- App summary information, such as dog count, total sessions, streaks, platform, and first/last session dates

Photos and photo metadata:
- Dental progress mouth photos you choose to capture or import
- Photo metadata, such as selected dog profile, timestamp, and storage path
- Dog profile photos and owner profile photos are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded by the app

Agreement records:
- Terms or safety disclaimer version accepted
- Acceptance time
- Platform
- Firebase UID

Diagnostics and identifiers:
- Crash reports, stack traces, app version, device model, operating system version, and similar diagnostic data through Firebase Crashlytics
- Firebase installation or app-instance identifiers used by Firebase services

Analytics and usage data:
- Pseudonymous Firebase Analytics app-instance ID
- App interaction events, such as sign-in, brushing completed, course step completed, reminder action, dog added or removed, and streak milestone
- Event parameters such as duration, dog count, course ID, step number, and reminder action

Local-only information:
- Owner profile details you enter, such as name, email, phone, and notes
- Reminder times, notification preferences, plaque dose settings, onboarding flags, and sound settings
- Local dog profile photos and owner photos

Local-only information stays on your device unless a future version of the app explicitly adds sync for that data and updates this Privacy Policy.

3. How We Use Information

We use information for these purposes:

- App functionality: to authenticate you, save and sync your account data, restore your dog profiles and progress on another device, show your brushing history, deliver reminders, and support account deletion
- Analytics: to understand aggregated feature usage and improve the app
- Diagnostics: to detect, diagnose, and fix crashes and stability problems
- Legal and safety records: to record acceptance of terms and safety disclaimers

We do not sell personal data. We do not show third-party ads. We do not use your data for third-party advertising, targeted advertising, or cross-app tracking.

4. Third Parties and Sharing

Petosan uses Google Firebase services, operated by Google LLC, for authentication, cloud database storage, file storage, analytics, and crash reporting. Data may be processed on Google infrastructure and may be transferred to or processed in countries outside your own, including the United States, subject to Google’s security and data-processing safeguards.

If you choose Apple sign-in or Google sign-in, Apple Inc. or Google LLC may process information needed to authenticate you according to their own privacy policies and account settings.

We share data with Google Firebase only as a service provider for operating, securing, diagnosing, and improving the app. We do not share personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties.

5. Permissions

The app may request these permissions:

- Notifications: to send brushing, plaque, or dental photo reminders you choose to enable
- Camera: to take dog profile photos or dental progress photos
- Photo library or media access: to choose existing photos for dog profiles or dental progress photos

You can change app permissions at any time in your device settings. Permission access alone does not mean data is uploaded. Photos are uploaded only for dental progress photo sync, while dog profile photos and owner profile photos stay local.

6. Information We Do Not Collect

Petosan does not request or collect precise location, contacts, calendars, health records, financial information, payment card information, advertising identifiers for tracking, or data from other apps and websites for cross-app tracking.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Firebase stores data using Google Cloud security controls. Firestore and Storage security rules are designed to restrict each signed-in user to their own account data. Local data is protected by the security controls of your device operating system.

No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure.

8. Retention and Deletion

Synced account data remains stored while your account exists or until you delete specific content in the app.

You can delete your account in the app from Settings. Account deletion removes your Firebase Authentication account and deletes data stored under your UID in Cloud Firestore and Firebase Storage, including dog profiles, brushing history, training progress, dental progress photos, agreement records, and synced account summaries.

Local-only data remains on your device until you delete it, uninstall the app, clear app data, or delete your account where local cleanup is available.

Some diagnostic and analytics data may be retained by Firebase according to Google’s default retention practices and may not be directly linked to your account.

9. Your Choices and Rights

You can choose not to add optional dog details, notes, photos, or reminders. You can disable notifications, camera, or photo library access in device settings. You can sign out or delete your account from the app.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, object to, restrict, or delete personal data.

10. Children

Petosan is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under the applicable age of digital consent in your region.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes or when legal, technical, or business requirements change. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may ask you to review the new policy in the app.
